Personal life

Greisen was raised in Hong Kong, the son of missionary parents. His childhood experiences there gave him a taste for travel and adventure, which he has since found helpful in his film-making quests.[1] As a young adult, he sang and traveled with Jimmy and Carol Owens’ musical "If My People". While on this tour, he met another young singer, Nelly Ward, who was part of the trio 2nd Chapter of Acts. The two married in 1978.[2]

Now that he was married to one of the premier singers in the new genera of contemporary Christian music (also known as Jesus Music), Greisen began to get involved with the other musicians in this field. This would lead him to set up several tours for lesser-known artists, including the soon-to-be-legendary Keith Green.[3] He would also become 2nd Chapter of Act’s concert coordinator.[4]

He and his wife have two sons and currently live in Monument, Colorado.

Professional Life

In the early 1980s, while working for his brother-in-law’s record company, Live Oak Records, Greisen began experimenting with videography and making films. He admits that he took an unconventional path to get into the business. He says, "No one told me that it’s hard – I just did it. I’m a terrible example because I wasn’t educated in film-making and I didn’t try to work for a film company." [5]

Greisen founded Reel Productions in 1987.[6] With this company and Exploration Films he has traveled to 72 countries, 42 of which he has videoed projects in.[7] These projects have included a broad range of topics including prophecy, science and nature, archaeology of the bible, history, evolution topics, and contemporary Christian worship music videos, and have led him to work with organizations such as Compassion International, the International Bible Society, Last Days Ministries, The Salvation Army, Sparrow Records, and the Woodmen Valley Chapel.[8] He also received national attention after his video footage of American missionaries being arrested in India and later released with the aid of the US State Department made national headlines.[9]

Greisen continues to produce and direct films, both for Exploration Films and partnering with organizations and individuals to produce promotional, product, conference, and training videos.[10]
